PC Magazine have published a review of the Cricket TXTM8 3G messaging phone. 'The TXTM83G is a tri-band EVDO Rev 0 (850/1700/1900 MHz) 3G CDMA device, but there's no Wi-Fi connectivity. In my tests, voice performance was adequate, but not great. Calls sounded okay in the earpiece, with a good level of volume, though there was some static. The speakerphone sounded good, but could use a higher maximum volume; it is usable outdoors, but not in particularly noisy situations. On the other end voices sometimes sound a bit harsh and there was a little background fuzz. Calls sounded much better through an Aliph Jawbone Icon Bluetooth headset ($99, 4 stars)--clear, crisp, and natural. The headset paired with the phone easily, and voice dialing was accurate and simple. Ringtones are sufficiently loud and you can use your MP3s, and the vibrate function is strong enough. Battery life is on the low side at 4 hours and 57 minutes of talk time.'

Sanyo Zio Review - PC Mag

PC Magazine have published a review of the Sanyo Zio (Cricket Wireless) Android handset. 'The Sanyo Zio is one of the least expensive Android cell phones in America. But you're getting what you pay for here, with an old version of the OS that's missing key features, plenty of bugs, and a slow processor that has trouble dragging along some of the phone's higher-end elements. Still, I don't want to minimize its main strength: The phone itself will run you between $229 and $249, but Cricket's plan means you'll only pay $55 per month for service with unlimited voice calls, text messages and 2GB of data--that even includes tax. That's at least $20 less per month than any other 3G Android phone out there. Over two years, that adds up to a lot of savings.'
