Acer Stream Review - PC Advisor

Acer-Stream-PC-Advisor.jpg

PC Advisor have published a review of the Acer Stream Android smartphone. 'The Acer Stream certainly looks a little more upmarket than its cheaper companions. It has a tidy construction in metal-effect plastic that appears relatively high quality. This looks smart at first, but be warned that the gunmetal paint is liable to chip and wear off in everyday use. The back is a tough rubberised plate, with a cover that slides off to reveal the removable battery and slots for SIM and microSD. The Acer Stream's main screen is the Amoled type, quite colourful but not as sharp as an Apple iPhone. Two connection ports are offered under a rubber bung on the Acer Stream's left edge - microUSB for charging and data connections, and a mini HDMI.'

Acer Liquid Metal Review - TechRadar

Acer-Liquid-Metal-TechRadar.jpg

TechRadar have published a review of the Acer Liquid Metal Android smartphone. 'As far as the sides and front are concerned, the Liquid Metal is almost - but not entirely - conventional. Under the screen, there are four touch buttons for Android Home, Search, Back and Menu functions. On the top edge, you have the 3.5mm headset connector and on/off button. The left edge is clear, the right edge has the volume rocker and camera button, and the bottom edge has a micro-USB port. All very normal. However, on the top edge there are also three white lights, which illuminate when you have messaging notifications, missed calls, and when you're charging the battery. They show up well when it's dark, but then you might not care about the notifications at such times.'

Acer beTouch E130 Review - CNET UK

Acer-beTouch-E130-CNET-UK.jpg

CNET Uk have published their review of the Acer beTouch E130 smartphone. 'The Acer beTouch E130 is that rare beast -- an Android phone with a BlackBerry-style Qwerty keyboard. Fortunately, this doesn't mark it out as a naff novelty, rather a unique take on what is fast becoming Planet Earth's favourite mobile OS. It's available for £192.04 without a SIM, but hasn't yet been tagged with a pay as you go or contract price here in the UK. Novelty it might be, but that doesn't mean you should treat the Acer beTouch E130 with the same disdain as you would dual-screen laptops or square clamshell cells. This is the kind of treatment Android has been crying out for, having found itself predominantly on touchscreen-only devices.'

Acer Stream Review - Reg Hardware

Acer-Stream-Reg-Hardware.jpg

Reg Hardware published their review of the Acer Stream Android smartphone. 'The Stream measures up closely to HTC's Desire. At 119.5 x 63 x 11.2 and 126g, it's light for a big screen smartphone. The colour combination of gunmetal grey and black gives it restrained and workmanlike look which I rather like. Externally, the only clues that the Stream is trying to be a PMP are the three dedicated media buttons on the front for play/pause, next and previous. These controls are actually more attactive than they appear in the publicitty images and are handy for in-pocket music control.'

Acer Stream Review - Pocket-lint

Acer-Stream-Pocket-lint.jpg

Pocket-lint have published a review of the Acer Stream smartphone. 'Starting with the design, Acer doesn't do itself any favours. There is a hint of the beTouch range around the back, with a matte black cover shaped as though it has come off the same design line. It's a simple clip on affair and whilst this doesn't make it a bad phone, it doesn't have the impact in the hand that the glorious unibody design of the HTC Desire has, or the premium materials of the iPhone 4. Around the front there is just a little too much bordering on that display. It feels like the prize asset is hidden away, with the design bringing in a screen frame, that again sits in the body of the phone. It feels a little chunky, lacking consumer refinement and wow factor in the hand. It doesn't exhibit the clean and sophisticated lines you want from your daily handset.'

Acer-Stream-Tech-Radar.jpg

Tech Radar have published a review of the Acer Stream Android handset. 'Where the Acer Stream differs from other Android handsets is in the presence of three further, physical buttons at the very bottom of the front chassis. Marked with arrows these are media controls and provide previous/rewind, play/pause, and next/forward functions. They work when you're listening to music, so you can control playback while in another app, which is very useful. They also work while you're watching video over the HDMI output, but not when viewing still images.'

Acer-beTouch-E110-AndroidAuthority.jpg

AndroidAuthority have published their review of the Acer beTouch E110 Android smartphone. 'The Acer beTouch E110 is an example of an ordinary touch-screen phone. This is something with which we are all familiar. The resistive screen and hardware buttons comprise the majority of the front-face. In truth, the device is good looking, but not in an exciting way. After all, there is very little one can do to jazz up this style of device without spending a fortune on the build. For what it is, the physical aspects of this device do not disappoint. The matte effect that finishes off the Acer beTouch E110 is a great addition because the device picks up less fingerprints. It is a perfect way to complete a compact device that fits nicely in your pocket. It is a similar size to the HTC Hero, albeit smaller, measuring in at 103.5mm x 54mm x 13.4mm (4in x 2.1in x .5in). The proportions of the beTouch E110 were spot on in terms of its weight, size and build quality.'

Acer Liquid E Review - Tech Radar

Acer-Liquid-E-Tech-Radar.jpg

Tech Radar have published a review of the Acer Liquid E Android smartphone. 'The top of the device offers a little more interest with flashing white lights emerging from the black casing when the phone is charging or when new messages arrive. It can be a little distracting when you're trying to sleep at night, but all in all, it's a nice touch. Also housed at the top of the handset is a 3.5mm jack. Somehow the device doesn't sit as well in the hand as the iPhone 4 and the HTC Desire. The squarish top edges and the 64mm width mean it's not quite as comfortable in the palm as we'd hoped, and it's difficult to find a manageable position. As we mentioned, it's also rather slippy too.'

Acer-neoTouch-P300-Trusted-Reviews.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Acer neoTouch P300 smartphone. 'The neoTouch P300 is a smartphone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that runs Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system (OS). As such it's going up against the likes of the Samsung Omnia Pro and HTC's impressive Touch Pro2. However, it undercuts both those models in terms of price, so we were keen to see how well it performed. The P300 feels a lot slimmer and lighter than the rather chunky Omnia Pro, and its design is quite appealing too - the metallic band that runs around the edge of the phone really complements the glossy black finish. Acer has sensibly added a standard headphone jack at the top, next to the mini-USB port and microSD card slot that are hidden behind a plastic flap. However, the overall build quality of the handset doesn't feel anywhere near as good as that of HTC's Touch Pro2.'

Acer-beTouch-E110-Trusted-Reviews.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Acer beTouch E110 smartphone. 'On the multimedia front the phone naturally has the standard Android music player, but Acer has also preloaded the Nemo Player which is a fairly decent media player that groups together your music, photos and videos under a single, easy to navigate interface. There's also an FM tuner app for when you want to listen to the radio and although the supplied headphones are pretty poor, the presence of a standard headphone jack means it's easy to swap them for your own cans. The camera is a pretty basic 3.0-megapixel affair that lacks both autofocus and a flash and while shots taken outdoors are passable, indoors its pretty hopeless unless there is lots of light in the room.'
